Sunny (Sunsanee) McGill

We are excited to have Sunny host our next retreats and to welcome her for the first time in Europe.

Sunny is originally from Thailand and started her yoga practice in 2008. Her passionate, vibrant and mindful teaching is expressed via her commitment to inspiring people to live their best life through the practice of yoga.

She completed her Hatha yoga training in 2011 and holds the Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 200 (ERYT 200) certification by the Yoga Alliance. She also accomplished the 200-hour yoga teacher-training programme with Yoga Vidya Peetham in Kerala, India. She has at least 1000 hours of teaching yoga.

Sunny lived in Canada for 11 years, where she was studying and working in palliative care at a hospital. This job  was a real eye opener for her. Caring for people nearing the end of their life, she realised how yoga can help develop a deeper understanding of the mind, body and spirit, creating acceptance and compassion for living a fuller, more joyful life.

In 2012, Sunny moved to Koh Phangan, where she set-up her own business ‘Sunny Yoga’. Today, she is the only Thai teacher on the island and runs group classes and privates for students of all levels and ages. Her classes are quite popular and attract students from all over the world.

Sunny's signature style integrates a mix of Vinyasa, Hatha and Sivananda, with an application of breath-led movement and deep intention. Her practice explores yoga asanas and meditation, whilst delivering practical experience on how to share the yogic way of living with others.
